It's POURING

It's been raining so hard today. Like SUPER hard. I went out in the rain to get the mail a few minutes ago and the mail box is about 30 seconds away and I came back drenched! Good thing I wore Vince's jacket for an added layer of protection. LAWL.

In other news, I'm currently listening to Christmas music! HEY, I don't care if you hate it HATERS, I enjoy it at least a few days out of the year while you HATERS get to NOT listen to it for at least 362 days out of the year... unless you work in retail or hang out at the mall a lot and are forced to listen to it then I guess I understand. It just feels so nice in here right now! It's raining, the Christmas tree is standing straight and shining with it's purrty lights, the Christmas music is playing. It's very nice! A very nice way to spend a FABULOUS DAY OFF, being lazy and doing absolutely noooothing.

So Christmas is 5 days away! How exciting.. I get to work it of course but whatevs. I hope I get to work A LOT. This year has gone by super fast! I was trying to remember all the good times and stuff but I couldnt cuz I forget everything but before my phone died I transferred all of the pics onto my comp and I got to look through them all. Some people think I'm a creeper for taking pictures of everything but that's how I remember all the things I did!! I'll pick my favorite ones and add them to my END OF YEAR BLAWG POST.

In the mean time, I think I will nap... OH YEAH but before I go... check these cute lil videos out... gigglesnort

GingerBRAWL

No no, Tyler and I didn't get into a fight (loooool) Last night Vince and I attended and competed in GINGERBRAWL! It's a ginger bread house building competition hosted by the lovely Davis family. The competition, as it is every year, was FIERCE!

Chewie and I teamed up last year to build sleeping beauty's castle which got us first place.

The year before that Vince won with Wall E. I can't find a picture of it but it was super cute! So this year I had, with the help of Vince, THE COOLEST IDEA EVAR. But unfortunately I was not able to execute it because I just wasn't feelin' it. And I wanted to give it my all if I was going to go through with it. I didnt wanna half- ass it, NAH MEAN? So Vince came up with the idea of building a ginger bread house of CARDS.

This is the first time Vince and I ever teamed up for anything EVER. We didn't win. But every one who saw our entry laughed at it's cleverness. I guess it got talked about a lot amongst the judges and was vying for the Most Creative category. But we ended up losing to panda copter ...only cuz it had a cute panda in front of it!!

I think my favorite entry, and every one elses favorite cuz it won People's Choice, was Amy's Queen of Hearts Hedge Maze. She made two candies the cards that are painting the roses red and one gummie bear is Alice herself!! SO CUTE! I heard rumors that if there wasnt a peoples choice category her's would have probably won.

But the winner this year was Chewie, he, with the help of Lona and Noella, built Repunzel's tower from Tangled.

Gingerbrawl was a lot of fun this year. I wasn't in it to win it but next year. OH MAN next year Im gonna win SO HARD it wont even be funny! Well... it will to ME when I see Chewie cry as I knock him off his winning streak!!

Nostalgia

Going through an old blog and found this, which came from a far more beautiful mind than my own.

Goo Goo Bear
2009-10-03 1:49 a.m.

Dear diary,
Oh how I wish that one day I could just sit in a trash can. Not because i have to but because I want to. I don't know how it will be but I imagine it will be something like flying a kite in the middle of a volcano. The beauty of liberating magesty unrequest upon a rolling hill of frozen roses revealed but through the wincing eye of a clandestined portal. Shall the dreamers lie down only to be denied their sacred embrace. Nay, for even a glimpse of paradise, the briefest taste of ambrosia, enlightens and powers. Oh sweet goo goo bear bring me a dream.
Sincerely,
Maritza

MY PHONE IS BROKEN! It turned off on its own while it was half way charged and now it wont turn back on. It makes me kind of sad but at the same time it feels like I'm finally free of a curse. Now I am forced to look up at the world instead of down at my hand, where my phone usually is. Who knows when I will go get it fixed. Maybe it's better being broken. We'll see!

So my sister is here. I felt the need to drive last night, so I drove all the way to San Marcos and picked her up, then brought her over here so she could spend the night and we could hang out today. Some times you need girl time, something I'm not really a fan of... but she and I are going to go mallin' and she's going to buy make-up and Im gonna TRY not to be extremely bored out of my mind!! She is currently sitting on my floor doing her hair. She had to get up early to get ready. I still dont understand that. Girls are weird. But I'll save that rant for another day!

This week has been an interesting one... I had a lot of fun though. We had our managers Christmas dinner, where our GM treated us to delicious foods and desserts. Then we exchanged gifts and laughed merrily as our GM received a shake weight and started to demonstrate to us how to use it while we were still in the restaurant. We had our Narnia Kids Fair and I got to wear jeans and a T shirt for my entire shift. I face painted mermaids (or sirens I GUESS), fairies, lions and hearts. I made a space shield, we played games, took pics.

In other news, Miley Cyrus taking a hit from a bong? That video was hilarious! You know what else is hilarious??

Yup... this is starting to feel right.

Need for a Purpose

Well what a crazy weekend that was huh? I mean, if you worked in retail or at the movies. IT was pretty bad but at the same time not that bad @_@ I don't get it either. It smells like Christmas in here! I wonder why?? OH YEAH cuz while at the mall today Vince sprayed me with FREAKIN' wreath AIR FRESHNER. So I sprayed him with, what was it? Nutmeg something or other. We are a combined Christmasy mess.

In other news, I feel THE SICKNESS coming on. I used to get sick once a year (with the flu or what have you) but now I get sick twice a year and my second sickness has yet to strike... I was really hoping it wouldn't happen in December but by the looks of things (particularly in the throat region) it's going to happen in the first or second week of December. I don't think that the apartment being 60ish degrees is a good thing for my body. My immune system, what little there is to speak of, gets agitated when it's cold and it's all like "F U WOMAN WE AINT PROTECTING YOU NO MO" and then I get sick. I knew it was bound to happen. BUT, even with the threat of THE SICKNESS coming I still went out in the cold and I still sipped on some delicious JAMBA JUICE! For some reason we aren't turning on the heat. Instead Vince and I wear layer upon layer of clothes and wrap ourselves in blankets to keep warm. I am currently wearing two sweaters (one with a hood), socks, warm PJ bottoms, a hat, a blanket and my hood is over my hat. I guess it's more fun to bundle up and sip on hot tea and milk and pretend like we're suffering without really suffering. It reminds me of how you turn on the AC in the summer but still get under the blanket to keep warm, only now it's in reverse? I dunno.

So Vince was doing stuff last night (he was just going through his closet, you pervs) and I was in his room stalking him on the floor and just plain being in his way when he pulled out some books and among the pile was Into the Wild. So I decided to read it. I'm about half way and it's really interesting! I started watching the movie but I don't feel like it captures the mood of the character, Chris, as well as the book does. In the book the author (Jon Krakauer) talks about other intelligent, seemingly happy and well-to-do guys who one day decide to go into the wilderness and just LIVE. They can't cope with the rules that come with being in modern society, are disgusted by how materialistic and hurtful humans are and so they free themselves and for a while they can be happy. All of the people he wrote about ended up dead, either by the wilderness they sought refuge in or by their own hand. The one thing in common with all the cases mentioned were that they were smart, and it seemed like their knowledge and over analytical minds pretty much drove them mad. They couldn't live blissfully like most of society chooses to. I guess that sort of makes them brave, to be able to fearlessly break out of the mold and choose to live their dreams, even if the road ahead wasn't marked on any map.

Here are some paintings I did for Vince so his room wont be so boring (don't tell him I said that)! The top one is the ocean the bottom one is a tree with purple blossoms. Legend tells of a magical tree with purple flowers that grants wishes. The journey to the tree is treacherous. One must travel by sea for many days and nights until you come across an island. Upon this island is the purple blossom tree. Take one petal and grant a wish, once the wish is granted you will never be able to find the island again. But granting a wish comes at a price... So be wary when you come reach the purple blossom tree and remember that those of noble, pure hearts will have nothing to lose, while those whose minds are consumed with greed and riches will pay a heavy price.

Good night!!

The Foodening

Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Maaaan am I stuffed right now. I'm enjoying left overs while I type this AND Im listening to DDR 6th Mix non-stop MEGAMIX so as to encourage me to play DDR some time in the future to burn off all this deliciousness!! But honestly... who would wanna go work out when you can just eat more stuffing??

Vince and I celebrated thanksgiving yesterday because we both had to work today. I spent 9 HOURS COOKING. I used ONE POT for EVERYTHING. It was an intense battle for counter space too cuz our kitchen is TINY.

Any-who, the turkey took 6 hours to cook so while that was in the oven I made green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes and stuffing oh yeah and mac n cheese I was going to eat before the turkey but I was like THATS NOT VERY SMART. *BUUUURP*

Vince had to work during the day but he came home in the afternoon and proceeded to ask if the turkey was ready and I said no, so he pouted and went to the living room to play Street Fighter. Then he took a nap and Nimbus took a nap too until the Turkey was ready. I didn't mind them being lazy bums cuz with Vince in his room having unicorn dreams, I had the TV all to myself! So I watched a documentary on The Beatles and Untold Stories of the ER.

Finally, after almost burning the house down, the turkey was ready and the FOODENING BEGAN! All the food was laid out ready for the pickins. Unfortunately this years foodening wasn't very crazy. We each only had one plate and we had tons of leftovers! Then we had berry pie and tart. IT was delicious! So, with bellies full of delicious foods we waddled (and Vince raptored) over to the couch and we watched some shows like Punkin Chunkin, then ended the night with a nice little holiday film called Doubt.

It officially feels like the holidays. This morning there was a layer of ice on my windshield that reminded me of living in Valley Center cuz it was always so cold there during winter. I put up our x-mas lights outside the other day and the whole patio is lit up with a soft white light. It's very soothing and Christmas-y except for the lights don't blink. THe only thing that's left to do is to get that x-mas tree up in here and we're good to go!! Then the mad rush to buy gifts begins... and thankfully, I only have about 20 to buy! Oh and I guess I should get one for Vince too.

PICTURE TIME!!

The Beginning of the End

JEEZE I am like on a HARRY POTTER HIGH right now. This surely washes out the bad taste that was left in my mouth from the LAST potter film AMIRITE?! But srlsy...

Firstlys I bought the new HP soundtrack by my most favorite Alexandre Desplat. He said that he was going to sample the HP theme (which is Headwig's Theme) and he did, BUT the soundtrack as a whole didn't feel complete, it didn't really have a main theme to it. It's so hard to explain. To me, it didn't feel strong and it didn't have a melody to it that would make me say, "OH HAY that's the HP7 soundtrack!" It was dark and it definitely fit the movie well and it was something that was a bit out of the norm for Desplat. I guess I need to give it a chance because I haven't heard it from beginning to end yet, just a few songs here and there, but I am a bit disappointed that I wasn't having ear-gasms immediately like Im accustomed to when I hear Desplat's music. There are some really good songs in it though like "Snape to Malfoy's Manor" which is the second scene in the movie and is self explanatory and "Lovegood" [EDIT: I'm listening to it right now as I edit this blog entry and it's warming up to me. Maybe cuz now I'm listening to it after I've heard it with the movie!]

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOKS!! MOVIE SPOILERS TOO!!
I've learned through experience that if I'm watching a movie based on the book I will NOT read the book before the movie. WHY you ask? Because every time that happens I leave the movie disappointed and I don't think that's fair to the movie. Also, I dont want to be exhausting my brain by comparing every little things in the movie to the book and vice versa. So, even though it's been years since I read Deathly Hallows and I've only read it once, I decided that THIS time I wasn't going to read the book and enjoy the movie for what it was. BOY was I glad I did! I remember very little from the book, except for the part where Dobby DIES and I CRIED.

The movie, first of all, felt WAY too short, which is a good thing! It's almost 2 1/2 hours long and for the first time since I've watched the HP movies it didn't feel like it dragged on to me, so it was super entertaining! The whole feel of it is dark and you feel anxious for the characters like OMG WHATS GOING ON?! There are a few things that are not explained like a scene in Bathilda's house where Harry crashes through a wall and he's in a little kids nursery? I don't remember THAT being in the book and no one cared to explain it in the movie! I guess the lady was just crazy... From the beginning of the film you can already tell it's going to be VERY dark, as in "Im going to kill this lady in front of you all now cuz I'm lord Voldemort" dark. As I was watching I KIND of felt BAD for all those little kids who are going to watch the film this weekend and how scared they're going to be. BUT WAIT! It's PG-13 and OH MAN IS IT EVER. Like... MAKE-OUT SCENE PG-13 EVER.

When I was reading the book I remember being very bored when they were wandering around the country side. In the movie it ALMOST felt that boring but just as I was about to yawn someone would aparate and I would choke on my tongue! And of course, I cried on the part that made me cry in the book... I mean, Headwig dies in the beginning and you're kind of too shocked to have a reaction, Mad-Eye dies but you don't really see it in the movie. AND THEN, Here some Dobby after he saves all the kids and then you see him die, and he's couldn't be happier because he saved Harry and that's all he's ever wanted, just to help him. Then Harry digs his grave all night and lays him to rest but not before engraving a stone: Here lies Dobby, A free elf. It's that last part that always chokes me up I don't know why. And that's when the tears rolled down my cheeks.

5 minutes later the movie was over. It was a pretty good "ending" if I do say so me-self. Can't wait til the summer time for the conclusion of my CHILDHOOD. *cries* Also so I can re-read the book and figure out WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.

Stuff to Read While Poopin'

WHAT

It's mid November and it's almost Harry Potter time THATS WHAT! I have just purchased the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows soundtrack. I'm listening to it right now! Currently enjoying a track called Lovegood. OMG I'm so excited for the movie!! I will be watching it on Wednesday night I can't wait. CANT WAIT. Other than that AMAZINGNESS nothing new has been going on round these parts. I feel like I've been busy but I really haven't. Maybe my mind has been busy while my body stands still... maybe.

I went to Electronica a couple weeks ago with some cool homies and it was a lot of fun! We danced and Tron'd and partied and Tron'd and gamed and Tron'd then we rode some lady bugs... then we TRON'D. Hmmm yes it was a lovely time.

I haven't blogged recently because I really haven't felt there was much to blog about even though I guess there was. Like going to the dentist and gettin all my teeth pulled out or I dont even know. I can't remember the last thing I blogged about.

In other news, Vince and I watched 127 hours today. It was a movie alright. Here's a link to a review that captures the movie brilliantly. http://blastmagazine.com/2010/11/15/127-hours-review/ There are a few spoiler-ish things in there so if you want to see the movie, you have been warned. I'm always fascinated with movies that are based on true events or books. I always need to find out more!! MOAR!!

And finally, what blog entry is complete without some World of Warcraft fan-girling. TODAY I played WoW and I was in Stormwind when a WHOLE LOT OF ELEMENTALS attacked the entire city. It was EPIC. These event are taking place in the main cities and lead up to the release of Cataclysm. S'good times. The game comes out December 7th! EXCITING!

So what else can I talk about... work is gonna be busy. Yay. Movies I'm looking forward to this holiday season: HP7, Tangled, Tron, Love and Other Drugs, Black Swan, The Tempest uhhh that's about it. I don't feel like typing anymore.

Obsolagnium

I dont know where Nimbus is. Hopefully he aint in my room cuz I shut the door and he wont be able to go potty!

SO, it's been a crazy couple of weeks! I don't think I've had a day to myself to just hide out and not think about or do anything. Lets start off with...

Friday the 15th!
All my homies from the internets came to visit me this weekend! Liz, Pete, Adam, Will and Rosanna all came over and we all went to Disneyland! I met these fine fellows on HTLOZ.COM in 1999! IT was the coolest Zelda website back in the day. It's gone now but these friendships were forged there more than 11 years ago and not even Mount Doom can destroy the magic holding us together (lololol). Any-who, Rosanna made a comic a long time ago about all 6 of us traveling into Disney universes using Pete's Piss Power. Kind of like Kingdom Hearts I guess, now that I think about it... Except the comic was made YEARS before Kingdom Hearts came out. WOAH! We came up with the idea first!!! So yeah we all went to Disneyland to just celebrate knowing each other for 11 years and in a way try to re-live the magic of the good ol' days. It was lots of fun!

Monday the 18th
Vince and I had our 3rd annual Halloween Party on Monday. It was Harry Potter themed. Lots of cool people came. We partied. There were black light. It was fun! Tyler and Liz helped us clean afterward. There were lots of cool costumes this year like Lady Gaga and Gideon and Gaston! I finally got to bed at around 4ish and I had to wake up at 8 to take Liz to LAX. It SUCKED MAJOR BALLS cuz I had to close that day too. OH MAN. Then I had to open the next day WAT.

Wednesday the 20th
So on this day I had a dentist appointment. I actually had one scheduled for Thursday too. One was for a deep cleaning and one was to remove my wisdom teeth. I got the appointments confused. SO, had my teeth pulled on Wednesday. It was TRAUMATIC to say the least. I was hardcore freaking out so a procedure that should have taken an hour and a half took three hours! I was awake for the whole thing, I got all four teeth pulled out. I was listening to Harry Potter while they were doing it so I would be more calm. UGH. The doctor even started showing me funny things on his cell phone cuz I was freaking out so hard. BUT, I got lots of meds and I was nice and drugged up up until Saturday. My mouth doesnt hurt anymore and I can eat more solid food now I think but if I open my mouth too wide it feels sore. Yey.

Saturday the 23rd
My car BROKE! Well it was just the brakes. It was scary. It's fixed now.

SO yeah thats all thats been going on. There was lots of work in between all dem days and what not. Boy I sure am sleepy. I feel like an old lady sleeping before 2am recently. It's all Vince's fault cuz he has a "normal" schedule and wakes up at "10 am" every day like the "average" human being and comes home in the "evening" and sleeps "early" and has "dinner" and watches "sports" on the "tv" then sends some "emails" So instead of hanging out with me and goofing off and staying up way past what we should, he does the responsible thing cuz he's "tired" and sleeps early and Im left all alone and bored so I just go to sleep too cuz I already finished watched the second disk of Scrubs this morning :( then I dreamed that Zach Braff was my boyfriend.

WELL Halloween is coming up for reals and hopefully I can give candy out to dem kiddies this year cuz It's something I've always wanted to do but I never get the chance to. BTW, our neighbors and HELLA crazy with their decorations... I feel like I need to improve on our lame-o spider webs we got going on. I think this will be a nice Halloween. And on November 1st, we can start celebrating CHRISTMAS!!! :D

Friday, October 8, 2010

Oh man!

OMG Harry Potter! Who's Excited?? I know I am!

So today I was off from work and I went shopping. This might not seem like a big deal but I NEVER go shopping. I never go out, in fact, I would rather NOT shop or go out. Any-who. I went shopping all around Foothill and uhh Mission Viejo I honestly don't know the cities around here. Let me go off on this tangent for a bit and say that the map of south OC, to me, begins at my house and ends at Aliso, where I work, cuz that's all I do is go to work and come home. I don't know what branches off of Alicia. Foothill has been added recently to my mental map, good thing too cuz there's a Michaels there!! But srsly, there is a big store filled world out there that I have yet to explore. Maybe one day I will, when I get friends and a life. But enough about that.

All I really want to talk about is this skirt I'm currently wearing! The last time I wore a skirt was in the summer time... in 2006. I remember cuz I went on a DATE with a fine fellow and I decided to look lady like and wear a skirt. I was looking for skirts today for my SUPER AMAZING HARRY POTTER COSTUME and found two that were alright looking. I had already been shopping most of the day and I was tired and cranky and hungry so I picked the first skirts I saw. On my way home I thought to myself, "WOW I WANT SOME FROZEN YOGURT" so I went to Target, no frozen yogurt there, but I meandered through the clothing section to look for a blue tie and I found THE MOST PERFECT AMAZING SKIRT EVER! So I bought it. The only problem now was that I had these two extra skirts that I was now too lazy to return. For you see, Rancho Santa Margarita is in the middle of no where. It takes half an hour in EVERY direction to get to GOOD stores like Joanne's Fabrics or Best Buy. So I didnt wanna go BACK when my house is two minutes down the street, and frozen yogurt was ONE minute down the street! See my dilema??

So I went home, plain frozen yogurt with cheese cake bites in one hand, and 20 bags of various goodies in the other, fruit of my labor for the day. Literally I guess, hah hah :( I put my costume together and checked it out in front of Vince's mirror cuz my room is so messy it would take all day to get to MY mirror, plus he was at work so he wouldn't mind (more on him later) and I was like WOW what a neat costume. But sitting in a bag on my bed were the other two skirts I bought. Two skirts that I would never wear cuz I dont particularly like them and they're just not my style. I tried them on and I was like, "OMG my legs are freeee!!!" Nimbus meowed his approval of my new wardrobe. So, after I showered and washed the stank of the day off me I put on one of the skirts just to wear around the house cuz Im cool like that. But the neatest part? MY SKIRT HAS POCKETS!! Boy, skirt technology sure had advanced since I was a kid. Pretty soon they're gonna put pockets in dresses too, hahaha, oh that'll be the day.

The End.

In other news, today was Vince's last day at Rancho Santa Margarita 6. CALM DOWN NOW. That doesn't mean he's moving back to San Diego, you crazy kids. He got a BRAND NEW THEATER in Laguna Niguel called Ocean Ranch 7! Yup, he upgraded! I went to LN yesterday and it was mighty fancy. But to me any place without bums is fancy! He's been super busy lately with his school stuff and work stuff so don't be sad if he doesn't talk to you for a few months. Juuust kidding. Kind of. Hmm speaking of Vince I haven't seen him all day. Wonder where he is... HEY, here's a map! Stalk us why dontcha!

Well I guess that's all for now. BUT WAIT. One more thing! I'm reading Let Me In. It's... crazy, and interesting and totally about that one movie by the same name! I really want to watch the mooooovie. Maybe tomorrow night! YES! Time for sleepies!

Something Wicked

Tim and I watched Beauty and the Beast last night. It was fun because it was the first time I have seen the movie on "the big screen." It was nice that it was only us two watching it so we had the opportunity to sing a long (cuz it's a sing-a-long) without feeling self conscious. What I liked about it was that since it was on the big screen I could see all the detail in the backgrounds and the animation itself. It was really cool to be able to notice all the characters facial expressions, a lot of which were HILARIOUS. It really felt like I was watching the movie for the first time. The only thing I didn't like was that reading the words to sing a long was a bit distracting from the animation itself. I don't think it will bug most people the way it bugged me though. GO WATCH IT if you can. I really hope that they do this sing a long thing with all the other Disney movies that have yet to be released on Blu Ray cuz that would be so amazing. If I ever get the chance to see Aladdin on the big screen... I don't even know what I'd do!

In other news, I just watched the second trailer to Harry Potter. I am so unbelievably excited that it tickles... I mean Im tingling. The movie will be epic Im sure, but as most of you know, I'm more excited for the score which is being composed by my most favorite composer EVER (next to Michael Giacchino) Alexandre Desplat!!! I was reading some articles about which direction he's taking for the score and he says that he is going to bring back a lot of the original music (Headwigs Theme I think is the name of that little tune I dunno) because he felt that it wasn't used a lot in recent films, and I AGREE 100%! AAHHH I wish I could listen to it right NAO! But the internets is telling me it wont be out until NOVEMBER :( I'm listening to music from HP3 which is my favorite book AND movie. My favorite song is called Window to the Past which plays when Lupin and Harry on on the bridge at Hogwarts and Lupin is telling Harry about his parents. Here have a listen. Best song ever.

It's almost October and I have yet to purchase a pumpkin or anything black or orange!! What it wrong with me??!?!? AAAHHHH HALLOWEEN IM SOOO EXCITED!! AAAHHH!!!!

Any-who... that is all.

Strip Me

WELL, what happened to this month?? It seems like only yesterday it was September 1st now it's almost October! Time seems to be slipping by me when I wish it would stand still. I've been feeling out of touch lately it's hard to explain. But enough about that.

Nothing new is happening over here in Margaritaville. Vince and I went to the Angels game yesterday (Wednesday) it was fun. Vince is sick (probably with cat AIDS) but he somehow crawled out of bed long enough to sit through 7 innings. I would draw a comic about the cool things that happened at the game but Im not in the mood right now. I think I want a tablet.

The only cool things im looking forward to right now is Halloween and our Halloween party!! It's all I've been thinking about since the beginning of September. It's going to be SUPER epic. More epic than Scott Pilgrim. Damn straight.

And finally, this song

Sun Burn

Summer is over. This summer was lacking in a lot of things like the beach, being outside during the day, the beach, and hanging out with friends. I didn't really realize until this very second how much I miss last years summer time... Long nights under the stars, crazy conversations, parties, sleep overs... all fond memories filed away in my mind. I think that if there was one summer I could re-live it would be that one (or the crazy summer of 1999).

This year has been all over the place so far so it's not surprising there hasn't been much time for fun to be had. Vince and I moved up to Orange county not 5 months ago! It seems like a life time ago though. All the two of us have been doing is going to work and coming home and Vince started going to school (which I think he's done with for now) so we've both been pretty busy. Im sure that things will start to settle soon though. The two best seasons of the year are coming up and with it comes Halloween (and a tubular Halloween party!), Thanksgiving (and a radical Thanksgiving dinner cooked by yours truly!) and Christmas (with gnarly presents-o-plenty)! I'm really excited for this years Holidays. It gives me a chance to decorate my home with pretty things and I sure love me some decoratin'!

Yesterday I went to Disneyland with Tim and it was so much fun! We were there the entire day. Highlights include going to Glowfest which would cause many people to tilt theirs heads in puzzlement. They basically turn California Adventure into a rainbow themed nigh club, they play the latest jams (and Michael Jackson!) and serve drinks. Yeah I had me some drinks, which came with glow themed cups or martini glasses or stirrers. Tim and I danced awkwardly amongst the crowd composed mainly of children, teenagers and their parents. After dancing we went over to watch World of Color but honestly I didnt enjoy it much. Everyone was taller than me so I could only see the tip top of the characters heads. It was annoying but hopefully I can go back soon and watch it from a better area (HINT HINT NUDGE NUDGE VINCE LETS GO TO DISNEYLAND!).

Nimbus is so FREAKING CUTE!!

I woke up this morning feeling rather melancholy (residue emotion from last night I suppose) and I've been listening to some of my favorite tunes. This is probably one of my favorite songs OF ALL TIME. I heard it for the first time when my sister and I played Final Fantasy IV way back in the day. I think we were... in 3rd and 2nd grade? The entire soundtrack to that game has always stood out from the rest for me, but this song in particular plucks at my heart strings and tear ducts every time I listen to it. If I ever get the privilege of getting married (to Edward!!), my only wish is that this song be played at my wedding.

Speaking of hot guys named Edward, there is a song from the same game called Melody of Lute and it's the theme of a character named Edward! He plays it for his girlfriend who happens to die in the first 20 minutes of the game and he spends the rest of the time trying to avenge her death :(

And just because this came on my iTunes right now. This movie... oh man this movie. I cried like a baby, I walked out sobbing. It wasn't until recently that I realized the true reason it made me cry though. The mind works in mysterious ways sometimes.

This was the theme song to last years summer. SO, I will end this entry on a high note and leave you with the end credits to UP. Here's to next years summer, let it be filled with laughter, smiles, sideways glances, summer romances and plenty of (reluctant) hugs.

FUN FACT: This blog is titled Spirit of Adventure because of this movie :)

BOY if I could make comics about situations like these... Id have a movie made about my life already... and it would be funny. And people would go watch it. ANY-WHO. Halloween is just around the corner ISN'T IT? I was just outside doing laundry and noticed there was a change in the air... fall is upon us. I can't wait to decorate my apartment with orange and brown FOLIAGE and cute mini pumpkins and a little scarecrow with a smiling face greeting all my guests with its WELCOME sign. It's worth suffering through the HORRIBLENESS that is summer for the WONDERFULNESS that is fall and winter [insert maniacal laughter here].

Harry Potter, I hate you

"What? WHY?" asked Vince, shocked. "You'll find out later, when I post my blog." I replied.

So just cuz I was bored and stuff I decided to re-read Harry Potter books 1-6 in preparation for the movie coming out in 82 days. I dont want to read the last one because I dont want to be mentally comparing it to the movie as Im watching it, I just want to appreciate it for what it is. NAH MEAN?

Any-who, I dont hate HP as the title suggests, but I used to.

FLASHBACK

It was the summer if 2000, I was 14 years old and an avid reader. I decided it was time to get into a new series of books so I wandered into a shop at the mall called IMAGINARIUM. The first thing I saw was a table full of books with some nerdy looking dude with glasses on the cover. I picked one up and thought to myself, "WELL, this looks popular maybe I should read it... but then again, Walden Books is just across the way so I'll take a look there before I make any purchases." So I browsed more books and I found a series called Dragonlance that sounded WAY cooler than Harry Potter, which looked like a little kid book anyway.

The following summer of 2001, I was browing the internets and my then favorite site Newgrounds.com when I noticed that there were a lot of videos of people hating on Harry Potter. They were all hilarious and I had some good lols and since all these people hated Harry Potter, I decided that I too hated Harry Potter. You see, back then, I had this habit of hating things because they were popular before checking them out first. Yeah, I was THAT person. So as the summer progressed I hated on HP and the more I hated the more intrigued I became with this character... and then the more I wanted to know about him. So I decided that I would read those books, even though I wanted to be a hater like the cool kids. I asked my mom to buy me the books and she said no. So then I asked her boyfriend and he said yes! And he bought me books 1-4 hardback at CostCo.

When I brought the books home I remember Rosanna was like, "EEWWW why are you reading that? HP is sooo lame" And I was like, "MAAN WHATEVER!" I read the first one and LOVED IT. I spent the rest of the summer reading the remaining three books and then I became obsessed. In between books 3 & 4 I forced Rosanna to read the first one and she got hooked too! So we were both crazies for the series from then on. We bought everything HP related and talked endlessly about the books and then when the movie came out??? We practically peed our pants.

I remember the day we watched the first movie like it was yesterday. It was in the fall and Rosanna and I went to San Marcos to watch it. I don't think we saw a midnight of it... we just went one day after school. I remember the music the most because it captured the magic of the Harry Potter universe. It was just so cool! Ive never been so fanatic over anything ever since Harry Potter it was just such a phenomenon! And it was because of HP that I told myself I would never judge or hate on something until I actually checked it out. And it was because of HP I wasnt ashamed of liking things that were different and I wasnt ashamed of being different. YUP. I love Harry Potter!

Im really excited for the movie but also sad because its finally coming to an end... but we will always have the books... so when we feel like we need a little bit of magic in our lives all we have to do it open the pages and be lost in the corridors of Hogwarts once again.

Teenage Dream

VEGAS. Vince and I went. The End.

NAH, it was fun and super relaxing. I was uploading some pics onto facebook just now and out of the 160 pics we took I could only post a hand full cuz in most of them we look drunk even though we weren't, well, I might have been but yeah. Not very photogenic over here. Any-who, if you follow me on twitter or facebook you were a first hand witness to a lot of the trip. Here are some highlights... IN DRAWING FORM!

Good memories... the ones I can remember anyway LAWL. We spent a lot of time eating and walking around the strip without any direction at all. Saw Mystere which was neat, went to a Sanrio store and I got an awesome PEN! The Luxor was super cool! I love ancient Egyptian culture so I was all over that. It was a very fun and non-drama filled couple of days. Came home early this morning and poor Nimbus was soo lonely lol. I think he was a bit traumatized cuz he was alone for so long. He's better now though. YUP. I was glad to get away for a while and have no real worries. I guess I didnt realize how happy I was until I got home and then I was like, Oh maaan I wish I was still vacationing. I got work in two hours.

VS. The World

Today a bunch of the guys and I watched Scott Pilgrim VS The World. I already knew that it was going to be full of video game awesomeness from the previews and people telling me about how cool it was and stuff-that wasn't a complete sentence-BUT it was better than I expected. Theeeere we go.

The movie was amazing from the very beginning... and I mean the VERY VERY beginning as in when they show the UNIVERSAL sign and earth logo. The movie opens with the Legend of Zelda 8 bit opening song(to which I geeked out to) and the entire movie is filled with video game references. The whole feel of it just mimics one fun RPG. There is one neat scene where Scott is day dreaming about Ramona and the fairy fountain song from Zelda plays in the background with a girl actually singing the tune. It was SO AMAZING. THEN there's this other scene where Scott plays the battle music from FFII on the bass. Yeah. That's when I peed my pants.

There were moments during the movie when I felt that it would have been way cooler to have seen it with a full audience. Although the movie is pretty funny, it felt like there were a lot of things you couldn't geek out to alone. I really wanna watch the movie with my siblings cuz I KNOW they would geek out with me. And we will laugh and laugh until forever. Im not good with movie reviews but if you're into video games, if you are a nerd/geek at heart, if you like Michael Cera then you will definitely appreciate this movie. Also, what's up with that chick playing Ramona?? Her eye balls are soo... big. I want to watch it again! Who wants to go with me?

I really wish I had read the comics before watching the movie so I could compare the two. There is a scene in the movie towards the end where a guy in the background is talking to someone about how "the comic was better than this movie" but you really had to be paying attention to hear it, I thought it was clever. I might have to borrow the comics from someone one of these days.

In ooother news, I have a new car. It's white and its lovely. Its a lot better than my blue one thats for sure. Im always afraid that it's going to break down cuz I dunno, I guess im used to bad things happening to me all the time I just freak out when things are going right... because Im just waiting. Its the wait that makes me crazy. Hopefully all will be good for a while. A long long while.

Sometimes it feels like it's me against the world.

What TIME is it??

If you havent watched Adventure Time... then you're missing out on one of the best shows on Cartoon Network right now. Check out the double rainbow spoof.

ORIGINAL

Adventure Time spoof

YEAH I hate how most youtube vids are widescreen now it bothers meee but I dont wanna change muh blog settings or the video settings. YAH. Work time

Twilight

Nimbus has his little kitty paws underneath my closed door. How long can I ignore him before he meows me to death and forces me to let him in? I swear he has super sonic hearing cuz I change the way I breathe and he runs back to the door.

**WARNING** If you are a BOY and don't like Twilight or anything associated with girly mushy feelings of love and wonderment and sparkles then you PROBABLY shouldn't read the rest of this here entry. Just skip to the end.

Any-who, I worked closing projections today which left me alone with my thoughts. So I did a lot of thinking and a bit of reading. I am currently a few chapters away from finishing Twilight. This is the second time (I think or third time) I read the book. Back when I first read it, I was enthralled by the character of Edward and the idea of living in a place that rains constantly (cuz I love rain) and being surrounded by trees and moss and GREEN (cuz I love... green). I was in a different place then, not just physically but mentally. I was eager to escape my reality. So I instantly fell in love with Edward, or the idea of him, of having someone who would love me unconditionally and protect me with his VERY LIFE. But also, I loved that the myths of vampires and wolves crossed the imagination and became tangible in the Twilight universe. It made me feel a little hope that maybe, something magical would happen in MY ordinary and boring life, and change things. And make life bearable again...

Twilight is my least favorite time of day. It has always brought sadness when Im out during twilight. I consciously avoid being outside during that time of day because it depresses me. For some reason it feels hopeless. I have NO idea why it makes me feel this way, it just does. When I finished reading the book it happened to be during twilight, and I felt sad for TWO reasons: The book had ended and I was back to my harsh reality, and the sky was that familiar orange-purple. I immediately forced my mom to buy me the second book so I wouldn't be so sad. She just thought I was crazy.

Now that Im re-reading it it has a completely new feel to it. Im in a different place. The book doesnt have that strange and magical hold on me as it did before, though I still get butterflies in my stomach now and again just like the first time, when I put myself in Bella's place. For a moment I let my imagination run wild and as I walked around the projection booth (or sometimes ran around the projection booth) I realized that something magical DID happen, and my boring life became extraordinary, if only for one reason. If only just for me. And for the first time ever I empathized with Bella (which is HUGE cuz I hated her character) and her struggle and reluctance to accept Edwards love and devotion. Its HARD to decide you SHOULDNT be with a sparkly and utterly handsome vampire just to protect him, and yourself, she did it because she loved him with all her being and had his best interest at heart (as did he for her in New Moon) but when it came down to it, they ended up causing each other more harm, which made me sad. Because I know exactly how she felt. Its a struggle, that's for sure. But one look and a crooked smile later, all the worry, the doubt, everything suddenly becomes brighter... like the color of the setting sun.

**END**

In other news, I changed my flat tire this morning like the burly manly man that I am. I told a couple of the fellas at work and they seemed impressed with my manly prowess, not to mention that incredible bulge I had in my pants which they seemed to approve of. Good thing they didn't know it was just a massive lady boner cuz I was thinking about Edward. If you follow my tweets you probably wonder why Im such a lunatic, but really, it only happens during crescent moons. I was gonna go to San Marcos buuutt certain circumstances prevented me, yet again, to make that trip. So here I sit, debating on whether or not to go to sleep or finish reading. Sleep does sound good, but Edward sounds better. *DROOL* Cue lady boner.

In other news... JAKE SOOLY?! I have a sudden urge to watch Avatar.

1432

I bought both Distant Worlds soundtracks cuz that's how I roll! I wanted to add it my iPhone but my phone is all sorts of lame and there wasnt enough room so I deleted all my pictures. Don't worry! I saved them all.

I've had my phone for about a year and a half. Im the type of person that tries to chronicle everything I do because I like to look back at the good ol' times. SO, I have amassed close to 1500 pictures, from the mundane to the super awesome. If a picture is worth 1000 words then I invite you to view my life over the course of a year, exactly 1,432,000 words worth of ADVENTURE.

DISCLAIMER: There were actually 1444 pictures but I deleted some that were uhh, too personal. But not in THAT way! YOU PERVERT!! You should be ashamed.

They were uploaded backwards so I linked from the last page and you have to move your way back, the first pic on page one is the most recent, the last pic on the last page is the earliest. Aiight?

Enjoy...

Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds

Soo if you follow me on twitter you know that last night I went down to San Diego to the Embarcadero Marina to see the super cool, super epic Final Fantasy concert!! It was an epic adventure of epicness getting there. Comic Con officially started yesterday so there were a lot of conventioneers around with their badges and their goodie bags and their geekiness. On the way to the convention center we happened to walk by the Hardrock Cafe where Entertainment Weekly was having a party of some sort and I saw Eli Roth and this one guy who's name I cant remember and I dont remember where Ive seen him so he will remain a mystery forever, but he was super famous.

Anyway, so Im sure some people are wondering, "WAIT A MINOOT, Final Fantasy... CONCERT?" Yes, friends. The San Diego symphony played songs from all the Final Fantasy games. Nobuo was there being awesome and just hanging out with the cool Square Enix peeps. Here is a song list of the concert:

FF prelude/theme/victory
Zanarkand
FFVIII battle
Swing de Chocobo
JENOVA
Fishermans Horizon
Man with the Machine Gun

INTERMISSION

FFVII Opening-Bomb Mission
Distant Worlds
Theme of Love - MY MOST FAVORITE SONG EVER!!
Prima Vista
Aeriths Theme
FFXIII The Promise, Fangs Theme
Opera Maria and Draco
Terra's Theme
Encore-Sephiroth

There was also a special preview for Final Fantasy XIV featuring new music from Nobuo!! And special never before seen footage of the game. The music was super niiice. The songs are called Twilight Over Thanalan and Beneath Bloody Borders. Over all the concert was great! The orchestra played the music from the games and they showed footage from the games on the three big screens above the stage. When they played Sephiroth they were showing footage of Advent Children and I never heard girls scream so loud over a fictional character. Can you guess who? It was a demon, a demon with a red cape: Vincent Valentine.

After the concert rosanna and I went on a carne asada/burrito run. The End.

PS. If you didnt get to go to this amazing concert dont worry, they are so popular (last nights show sold out!!) that there will be more next year!!

She is Love

This song came out a year ago and it reminds me of last summer.

I've been beaten down
I've been kicked around
But she takes it all for me
And I lost my faith
In my darkest days
But she makes me want to believe

They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love
She's all i need

Well i had my ways
And they were all in vain
And she waited patiently
It was all the same
All my pride and shame,
But she put me on my feet

They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love
She is love
And she is all i need

And when that world slows down dear
And when those stars burn out here
Oh she'll be there, yes she'll be there

They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love
They call her love, love, love, love, love

She is love
And she is all i need
She is love
And she is all i need
She is love
And she is all I need

She's all I need

Airception: A Reviews

I finally watched Airbender last week. I'm gonna go ahead and say that I didn't hate it. I didn't like parts of it, but it wasn't as horrible as a lot of people said it was. I think that part of it had to do with me waiting so long to see it, so my expectations and hopes were at ZERO, therefore I wasn't as disappointed. HOWEVER, because my expectations were so low, when the last battle started to unfold, and it turned out to be super epic, I was very surprised. For the last 45 minutes or so my face was like this :O cuz OH MAN. It was such a good battle, regardless of it not being like the shows finale. I LOVED those final scenes. Everyone was finally bending and fighting and the music was so cool and that ending!! It made me excited to see the next movie, even though chances of that happening are not too good. I hope it does get made. I hope someone else takes over with the writing of the story. Cuz that's all it really needed! Better dialogue would have saved that movie. And maybe some actor training I dunno. Im gonna buy that movie when it comes out just cuz I wanna support Airbender. Oh and the way Zhao gets trapped in that water bubble?? OH MAAANNN!!

I watched Inception on Wednesday night when I was super tired and stuff. I wasn't excited for this movie at all. I mean, I did wanna watch it but I wasn't like OMGINCEPTIONOMG. It looked interesting enough, but I didnt even know what it was about until I was actually watching it. The visuals in the movie were stunning, some of the stuff they did was crazy like that zero gravity battle in the hotel. I was grasping the story well enough until they decided to go into Fischers mind. Things got a little confusing after that but I was still entertained. Then things got super weird and then it ended. But I loved that ending because it really leaves you wondering and all you want to do is go back and watch the movie again and see if you can pick up any hints or clues. WELL PLAYED MR. NOLAN.

If I had known that the movie had to do with dreams I would have been all over it cuz dreams are my thing. Dreaming is a window into your subconscious, it lets you see truths about yourself you didn't realize or were trying to hide. I've always wondered, "What if this life I'm living right now is just a dream? And one day I will wake up from it" That notion is actually very common in Mexican culture (among others im sure). They say that this reality, this existence is only temporary. It's like a test. When we die, that's when the real world begins, but only if we've done well enough in this lifetime to move on. If we fail, we are doomed to live in this dream again. CRAZY RIGHT?? Any-who. Inception is probably one of the better movies to come out this summer, so go watch it! WATCH IT I SAY!

In other non-movie related news, I got a bed! You might have seen pics on twitter. My room is lookin' mighty nice now. It's so cute and girly. It's the first time in a good... 4-5 years since I've owned a bed. But that story is for another time. I'm gonna go build me a new fancy shmancy TV stand for that fancy shmancy new TV we dont have. HAH HAH Vince, I appreciate you <3 <3 <3 Now to finish laundry. I leave you with this:

and THIS. The trailer for Flipped is narrated by non other than PRINCE ZUKO (Dante Basco)

Lonely Dreamer

I have now officially watched Eclipse 4 times. Well... maybe the 4th time is a lie cuz I went in there and just fell asleep for most of it.

I watched Despicable Me today. I honestly wasn't interested in this movie at all but since I've watched every single movie out right now (except for Airbender) I decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by the 3D which was very 3D-ish. Stuff actually popped out at you! The story was simple and cute and there were funny parts and every one had a gay ol' time. What I liked the most was the music. I was sitting in the auditorium wondering to myself, "Hmm... I know this hip hop artist..." but I couldn't place him. So I waited for the credits and OMG, Pharrell did 4 songs for the movie! I immediately bought those 4 songs and listened to them.

On Thursday I watched the Predators midnight show. It sold out and my first thought when I walked into the auditorium was "WOW talk about a sausage fest" I think I was one of ten girls watching that movie. Im a huge fan of the original so I was a bit skeptical about watching it. The past couple of Predator movies were SO BAD. They just ugh, UGH. What I liked about the movie was that the score was A LOT like the original, so I was pretty happy. I also liked that they were back in the jungle and they made references to the first one. I was pleased that the violence in the movie was downplayed. Usually with these types of movie you get a lot of gore that to me feels cheap and fake like they're trying to wow us with crappy death scenes, ya know?

What I didn't like was that the story felt really weak and unrealistic (as weird as that sounds for a Sci-Fi movie)... I dunno how to explain it. If you watched it lets talk about it!

Got work in 6 hours and it looks like I wont be getting to sleep any time soon. Especially with nimbus clawing up my arms.

My Love

Finally was able to get some sleep. But I woke up 4 hours later gasping. It was really scary.

In other news, I've been listening to this song on repeat all day. I wont say where it's from so people wont judge before they've listened.

Its really pretty. Makes me all sorts of melancholy.

I got my car fixed today! Well, yesterday technically. A hose was completely destroyed and the ones next to it were about to go too so they changed everything and made it really nice. I dropped the car off at 8 and the nice mechanic drove me home. It wasn't until then that I realized that I had left my house key on the keys, with the mechanic. So I could either walk back which was 45 minute walk or hang out for a few hours. I chose the latter because it was only gonna be 2 hours. Except that that two hours turned into 8 hrs. So from 7am to 5ish I was walking the streets like a hobo. I did some shopping, had lunch and what not. But it was soo boring. I slowly made my way to the mechanics, stopping at stores to waste time. By 2 I was tired. I had had only 3 hrs of sleep and I couldn't stay awake so I finally made it to the mechanics and just sat there talkin with the guys. They finally fixed it and all was good.

Me being me as soon as I got home instead of going to sleep I cleaned and did laundry and ran some errands and finally by 10 I was done. I showered and went to sleep and half an hour ago wake up freaking out. Now I probably wont be able to go back to sleep. So how about that song? Pretty right?

Nimbus is meowing a lot. Gonna go lurk on the internets.

Avatar State

WELL, It's been a while hasn't it? Ive been busy doing nothing much but going to work, coming home, and going back to work. Now I know how Vince feels and he works WAY more than me.

SO Vince and I watched Eclipse last week. The third book in the Twilight saga is my least favorite because I felt that it was a filler, nothing really happens except Victoria dies and the Volturi find out Bella is still human. Stephanie Mayer could have put that in the second book and just made the series a trilogy. So this movie, to me, felt like a waste of time. I only read the book once but the movie covered most of what I remember happening in the book (like Bella being a stupid ho, Jacob keeping Bella warm and Victoria dying in the snow) so, that's good, I GUESS. I still think Edward is a hottie and I'd probably watch the movie again just cuz he's hawt. What I did like about Eclipse was that the other members of the Cullen clan got more than one line of dialogue. I liked seeing Jasper and Rosalie's back stories. I especially loved Jasper, cuz every time I saw him I thought of Sokka...

And that brings me to The Last Airbender. I have yet to see it, but judging from the midnight and people in the lobby screaming "This was the worst movie ever" Im gonna go ahead and say that it's probably not good. It's really upsetting that M Knight failed yet again. I held out for a long time, I really liked him as a director and I defended him through all his movies. There's still a part of me that keeps hoping I'm going to see the movie and at least NOT hate it, and I don't hate it. A part of me doesn't want to watch it at all. But, regardless of the pile of crap that the movie is, the show is still SO EPIC and I love it so much. I know that every single fan of the show is super upset right now. But I've walked in to parts of the movie and I still get happy when I hear Zukos name, or hear Katara talking about Ba Sing Se (I didn't mean that to rhyme) and hopefully new people are becoming aware of the existence of the show and they will watch it and love it like I do.

Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.

Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.

Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns, and they found peace and freedom.

Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribes are capable of adapting to many things. They have a sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.

Movie Scores

Ready your eyes and minds for a rant of epic proportions.

Errbody knows my favorite composer of ALL TIME is Alexandre Desplat. He made the soundtrack to The Golden Compass, Cheri, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (one of my most favorite movies of all time), Julie & Julia, Fantasic Mr. Fox and most recently The Twilight Saga: New Moon. His music is very light and magical. He uses a lot of string and wind instruments and uses them in a way that is both heartbreaking and uplifting in one note. I was kind of upset that he wasn't doing the original score to Eclipse until I found out he was doing the score for, wait for it waaait for iiittt.... HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HOLLOWS PART ONE!!! I almost peed my pants when I found out, srsly. PRETTY SWEET.

I'm listening to The Last Airbender soundtrack right now and it's hard to concentrate on what I'm trying to write. Lets talk about James Newton Howard, who composed the score for the movie. He did The Dark Knight, King Kong and the Village among others. His music is very... heavy. He uses a lot of trumpets and drums so his music sounds very epic. People have been saying that the movie seems too dark and judging by this score, the scenes from the movie I've watched in trailers and how Aang is either fighting or crying, I'm gonna go ahead and say it's gonna be pretty dark. I REALLY hope some humor was incorporated to the story. There is a trailer where Sokka is cheering but it's like half a second long so who knows.

I'm LOVING the Airbender soundtrack so far. It feels like I'm in the middle of an epic elemental battle FOR MY LIFE. It's like Zuko could jump in through the window right now and punch my face and steal Nimbus and for no reason eat some chips and then jump out the window and CUE TRUMPETS. I do feel like I'm cheating though, buying the soundtrack cuz I know what's gonna be in the movie now but I don't curr. TWO MORE WEEKS!! OMG I wonder is that song from the teaser trailer is in the soundtrack cuz I freakin love that song. Guess I'll fiiind out. Is it sad I'm more excited for this movie than Eclipse? ... nah. :)

Vince and I have been watching Avatar: The Last Airbender on DVD cuz we bought all three seasons. And for those of you not in the know, Avatar as in The Last Airbender was the original Avatar until James Cameron's Avatar came out, so from now on until further notice when I talk about Avatar I mean The Last Airbender. KAY? So anyways... we've been watching Avatar. Just finished the first season yesterday and Vince started the second season last night cuz I've already seen the entire second season on TV. But OH MAN. When we reach the third season... THATS where the crazy action epicness lies. I cant wait to see how the show ends!! Do Aang and Kittara get married?? Does Sokka finally become a true warrior? Will Zuko find his path to light... or darkness? WILL AZULA FINALLY BE KILLED?? SO MANY QUESTIONS! And does Firelord Ozai get defeated on the day of Black Sun? Does the Avatar cycle get broken? DO WE EVER FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO ZUKOS MOM OH MAN.

The countdown begins. 9 more days!

Summer Hawties

SO, I was walkin' around work, pretending to count things, pretending to do inventory when I started thinking about last year. I thought about the summer time actually, and what events marked the beginning of the most HORRIBLE season known to man (I hate summer time). I think last year it was the softball/bonfire (that WAS last year, right?) that kicked off the summer season for me. I wonder what event will mark the beginning this year? Hmm... maybe it will be my AWESOME PARTYYY!!! If you're reading this then you're invited!! Oh wait except for you. You're NOT invited. Get outta my blog you creeper!!!

Any-who, uhh so yeah. I guess, according to e-mails and stuff, I'm full time now? So that kinda sucks but it's cool at the same time. I mean, I like getting the perks like ALL THOSE SICK days and benefits but I was always afraid of it cuz I hate being obligated to do anything, ever. And now I GOTTA work a certain amount of hrs for an entire year before I can pretend to be sick and use sick days for FUN days :\ I guess a year can go by pretty quickly... this time next year I'll be rollin' in the sick days. DAS FO SHO. Oh yeah and maybe, for the first time in 8 years I'll be able to go on a vacation! I mean, PAID VACATION!

SO back to my awesome party. It's gonna be pretty epic. Cuz the last party I threw, my birthday after party where the party DIDN'T die, was super sweet amirite? Im planning on making a few delicious treats and there will be plenty of DRANK if you catch my drift. SO see you there? :D

Alice visited me and Vince on Sunday night through Tuesday night. It was fun. We had an interesting night that ended with me on a floor and Alice on World of Warcraft and it just felt like my b-day party all over again except a certain someone was missing. Not enough gropeage if you ask me. Of course, I would never do the grouping unless a certain cutie was in the room. We all know who that is! Or... maybe not. Good times and plenty of cream filled Popsicles. I'd show pics but Im too lazy -__________-

I havent been sleeping well since Alice came over. Not cuz she was here... well maybe cuz she was, but freakin' construction workers are taking out all the concrete around the pool and I guess adding something pretty freakin amazing cuz they show up at the butt crack of dawn (9am) every day with their sledge hammer action and they wake me up!! Also Nimbus is a freak who likes to run on my face when Im trying to sleep. I bring this up because it looks like that I'm gonna be sleepin' solo tonight, no cat, no distractions, at least for the few hours before the construction guys come around. And to add insult to injury, none of them are cute OR shirtless. WTFcakes.

KARATE KID

Doodes. Tuesday was so much fun! I woke up and Vince was all like, "You wanna go with me?" and I was like "Bwwahuuh?" Cuz I had just woken up you see. I went potty and when I got out he's all like, "Meet me at the theater at 11:30. You're going" and I was like, "Bwaahuuhokay"

Vince got invited to go to a screening of the Karate Kid and the Lopez Tonight show through this dude who owns a karate studio. It was pretty neaaat. We were VIP, so that meant getting to go in front of a bunch of people in line and stuff. We went to Burbank and got to watch the movie which I enjoyed a lot. Then we went over to the Lopez Tonight show and the guests were Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and Taraji P Henson. I think Jaden Smith is the cutest kid ever. And I thought this even BEFORE he said his favorite game was World of Warcraft and he likes the Twilight movies and is on Breaking Dawn. Best kid ever?? Hellz yeah! If only he was 13 years older :(

The taping of the show was tiring cuz we had to clap ALL the time, and stand up and sit down. But it was lots and LOTS of fun. After the show we headed home. But before that we had TACOS. And after that Vince and I went to watch Get him to the Greek at the IRVINE SPECTRUM which I didn't really enjoy much... and neither did he. I mean, it had funny parts but it felt like it dragged in some parts and other parts were totally unnecessary. I liked Karate Kid better. Highlight of the night? Need I say it? YES. We saw CASEY DIXON!!

Any who... I am currently talking to Alice on Skype lol and it's really funny right now. Oh yeah she's coming to visit on Sunday and staying til Tuesday. HOW EXCITING. It's a shame we can't have our third Musketeer with us :( Im still angry at the world.

And finally... Travis Mccoy!!

Hobo Elite

OK. So It's been a while since I posted anything cuz I've been too busy thinking about doing it and I never got around to actually doing it. Uhh

So as most everyone knows, Vince and I got a cat! His name is Nimbus. Vince thought of Harry Potter and I thought of Nimbus Land from Mario RPG so we agreed on the name for different reasons but the important part was that we agreed on something. HE'S SO CUTE! Here are more pics!

I also got a car last week. It's probably the most ghetto car in the history of Orange County but I honestly don't care! I call it Mexican chic (Danny called it Hobo Elite). I was kind of scared to drive it at first cuz it felt like it was going to break apart. The first place I drove it to was Irvine and I had to take the freeway. Yeaah I was freaking out. But it runs well enough and it looks ok... on the outside. Im afraid that Im going to get pulled over for being a Mexican driving a very Mexican looking car. I see at least one person get pulled over every day. Today I saw two people getting pulled over! One on the way to work and one on my way home.

It's crazy. I haven't had a car of my own for about a year. I no longer have to rely on other people to take me places. I now have the freedom to go wherever I want, whenever I want. I don't have to bum rides off people who happen to be going where Im going. It's such a strange feeling! The other day I was like, "OH MAN IM HUNGRY WHAT DO I DOOOO" and then I thought, Oh yeah I have a car, I can GO get food! I didn't go get food, I waited for Vince and then he drove me to the store BUT STILL. It's nice to know that I have the option to go out now.

Im super grateful for everyone who gave me rides over the course of a year and some change. Thanks to all my new work buddies, who I've only known for two months, but constantly worried about how I was getting home and offered to take me even though it was a million miles away from their house. You guys rock my socks off. Im especially thankful that Vince let me borrow his car for as long as he did. I miss that car. Especially it's air conditioning. And the radio. And the leather seats. And the power windows. And the cup holder. But I don't miss that wiggly visor.

So yeah, It's been an exciting week I suppose. Im kind of sad I was too poor to afford tickets to Blizzcon this year. There's always next year I suppose... I hope I can afford to go to the Final Fantasy concert cuz OH MAN if I don't go Im gonna be emo for the rest of the year, no matter how many kitties sleep on my face. I can't miss the chance to meet or at least SEE Nobuo Uematsu!! To be able to listen to his music played by a full orchestra? The thought of it makes me all teary eyed. And the Black Mages might be there!! I can't miss that opportunity. Meep.

I'm well on my way to becoming a functioning member of society, got the fancy iPhone, got wheels, got a pet. All I need now is a bed and I will be like a normal person! How exciting. Gonna go take a cat nap with Nimbus now!

The Pillows and More!

Went to a concert yesterday at the Glass House in Pamona. Went with my sister and WILL and his buddy were there too! I'm having trouble finding good pics/youtube videos of the opening band but they where Pop Chocolat, an all girl rock group, Mono Kuro, an all dude crazy rock band, then another girl band named Noodles (heh heh heh). They were ALRIGHT. The dude band's lead singer had the coolest hair ever. I seriously wanted to go over there and touch it and I even got the chance to after the concert but... I chickened out.

The venue was small and we all decided to chill on the second floor so we had a better view of all the bands. The pics I took from my iPhone (which SUCKED MAJOR BALL SACK) were from the balcony were were hanging out of. The reason we went to the concert in the first place was to see THE PILLOWS. Here's a vid from the actual concert last night shot by someone in the front row.

By the time The Pillows actually came on I was tired from standing and ready to sit down, but instead I moved down to the bottom floor and joined in on the screamin' and hollerin'. These guys are celebrating their 20th anniversary of being super cool this year. They've been around for a looong time. I'm not a huge fan of The Pillows but I did recognize most of the songs they played, even if I didnt know what they were called. I had lots of fun.

OH YEAH. So there was this girl there. She was tall, had long brown hair, pink skirt, baby blue jacket, black boots. I noticed her when we were waiting in line for our tickets. Didn't think nothin' of it until I saw her skankin' up the snack bar. And I was like, "Dude, that chicks a DUDE!" and Rosanna says, "Yeah that's a brolita" And I was like, "WHAAAT she/he is uuugggllly." New term for ya's. A lolita, is someone like my sister, dressing up all uhhh cute or whatever. A BROlita, is a dude, who also dresses all cute and whatever. This brolita failed. And according to Rosanna, who has met said brolita in past events, she/he is a grade A beyotch. I wouldn't wanna talk to her, but I would like to pull her skirt down and she if she will scream like a dude or a girl.

In other news, THIS GUY

BEN BARNES. Rosanna and I went to watch Shrek in IMAX 3D at the Irvine SPECTRUM. We saw a standee for the new Chronicles of Narnia movie.

Here's my reaction: Oh hey, neat standee. It took a while for this movie to come out, eh?
Rosanna's Reaction: BLARGHBARFFAAHHHBENBARNESSSSERHEIRHIRRAPERAPERAPE!!

Yeah. For the next 10 min all she kept saying was BEN BARNES! Over and over. It was pretty annoying. The movie was neat. I gotta admit, I WAS falling asleep but I was pretty tired. I like that it has less pop culture references than its predecessors which added 10 cool points, but sucked that they used a buncha mainstream songs, -9 cool points. The first time I watched it I cried like a new born baby, but It's my sensitive time of month so anything makes me cry. Like the series finale of LOST. Oh man, so... confusing and sad and just oh man WHAT WAS GOING ON??

Finally, I'm gonna attempt at making a vlog... so we'll see how that goes. PEACE

Future Husband

Hey guys... me again.

OK... Rosanna showed me this dude Ray William Johnson's YouTube channel yesterday and I haven't stopped watching it. I've stalked his Twitter, Facebook AND Myspace (who still GOES on Myspace anymore? Talk about 2008 status-OLD SCHOOL). I think I'm in love. Like, I would fly to New York and walk the streets until I saw him and I would... I don't know what I would do but warrants WILL be issued for my arrest due to obsessive stalking and overall creepiness.

So he has lots of channels but the only interesting one (unless you're me and check out his daily vlogs cuz I'm a creeper) is his =3 channel as in equals three (or smiley kitty face :3) where he talks about and shares three viral videos, comments on them and makes them hilarious. His vids are usually 3-4 min long and oh so entertaining. I dunno I'm just... obsessed!! Check him out for yourself.

Spent all last night watching this guys videos, and I spent all day today watching his videos. I ask myself: WHY didn't I learn of him sooner???

In other news, I know you're wondering and yes, Vince is still alive. He's workin' hard and I've been working like a day laborer aaahaha (It's ok, I'm Mexican), and it sucks :( Honestly, he and I have hardly seen/talked/punched each other for a week or two cuz, that's just the way life is sometimes. I saw him today for a few minutes when he came back from work. I made him some pasta :3 <--kitteh face. And now (for all you stalkers out there) he is sound asleep, dreamin' his lovely dreams of Excel spread sheets, Dr. Pepper rivers and Fruit Roll-Up bearing trees.

Lastly, I've been wanting to do video blogs but two things are stopping me. 1. I hate looking at myself in pictures AND video so editing it would be a nightmare and B) I feel stupid talking to a webcam when Im by myself. Well...I actually havent even attempted to do one but I KNOW Im gonna feel dumb doing it. Maybe one day. And 4thly (hehe) would anyone even WATCH them? Hmm... I bet if Vince made a guest appearance ppl would watch. We'll see what happens.

Concerts, Conventions and Coolness

I'm loving this song right now.

Blizzcon (October 22-23 @Anaheim Convention Center) tickets go on sale June 2 at 7pm and June 5 at 10am. $150

Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy (July 22 at 8pm in San Diego) tickets on sale now. Prices range from $25-$100. Buy the $100 ticket for a special meet & greet with NOBUO UEMATSU.

Not 100% sure but the last time Nobuo was here (or when I saw him at least) was in 2005 when he brought the BLACK MAGES to the US for the first time. OMG, if they perform at this concert I think I might die from all the EPICNESS. Never heard of the Black Mages? First, slap yourself, then go to youtube or iTunes and look them up! They are Nobuo's band and they do rock covers of ALL Final Fantasy music. Know what? I'll save you the trouble. Here's a VID.

Anyone going to Comic Con this year? Tickets pretty much sold out the weekend OF last years con. I might go next year once I get the bad taste outta my mouth from LAST year. Nah, it was fun. I like being amongst my kind. You know, the COOL kids. Lets just hope that the Twilight peeps arent there again to mess everything up.

E3: Electronic Entertainment Expo (June 15-17 @Los Angeles Convention Center) It's a trade only convention, as in, if you're not part of the video game elite (work for a video game company) you're outta luck. I'm mentioning this here cuz everyone should learn what it is and suffer, like me, cuz we can't be a part of the awesomeness :( Though I was SUPER lucky one year and got to go back in 2005. Best weekend of my life. I gotta go work at freakin'... gamestop or somethin.

MAN this summer. This summer just feels like it's gonna be epic. Hopefully not epic FAIL.

I'm going to The Pillows concert this Sunday at The Glass House in Pamona. Concert starts at 7pm. The Pillows are probably best known in the US for their music on the crazy/weird anime FLCL. Here's a vid. See you guys at the concert!
