BOY if I could make comics about situations like these... Id have a movie made about my life already... and it would be funny. And people would go watch it. ANY-WHO. Halloween is just around the corner ISN'T IT? I was just outside doing laundry and noticed there was a change in the air... fall is upon us. I can't wait to decorate my apartment with orange and brown FOLIAGE and cute mini pumpkins and a little scarecrow with a smiling face greeting all my guests with its WELCOME sign. It's worth suffering through the HORRIBLENESS that is summer for the WONDERFULNESS that is fall and winter [insert maniacal laughter here].

Harry Potter, I hate you
"What? WHY?" asked Vince, shocked. "You'll find out later, when I post my blog." I replied.
So just cuz I was bored and stuff I decided to re-read Harry Potter books 1-6 in preparation for the movie coming out in 82 days. I dont want to read the last one because I dont want to be mentally comparing it to the movie as Im watching it, I just want to appreciate it for what it is. NAH MEAN?
Any-who, I dont hate HP as the title suggests, but I used to.
FLASHBACK
It was the summer if 2000, I was 14 years old and an avid reader. I decided it was time to get into a new series of books so I wandered into a shop at the mall called IMAGINARIUM. The first thing I saw was a table full of books with some nerdy looking dude with glasses on the cover. I picked one up and thought to myself, "WELL, this looks popular maybe I should read it... but then again, Walden Books is just across the way so I'll take a look there before I make any purchases." So I browsed more books and I found a series called Dragonlance that sounded WAY cooler than Harry Potter, which looked like a little kid book anyway.
The following summer of 2001, I was browing the internets and my then favorite site Newgrounds.com when I noticed that there were a lot of videos of people hating on Harry Potter. They were all hilarious and I had some good lols and since all these people hated Harry Potter, I decided that I too hated Harry Potter. You see, back then, I had this habit of hating things because they were popular before checking them out first. Yeah, I was THAT person. So as the summer progressed I hated on HP and the more I hated the more intrigued I became with this character... and then the more I wanted to know about him. So I decided that I would read those books, even though I wanted to be a hater like the cool kids. I asked my mom to buy me the books and she said no. So then I asked her boyfriend and he said yes! And he bought me books 1-4 hardback at CostCo.
When I brought the books home I remember Rosanna was like, "EEWWW why are you reading that? HP is sooo lame" And I was like, "MAAN WHATEVER!" I read the first one and LOVED IT. I spent the rest of the summer reading the remaining three books and then I became obsessed. In between books 3 & 4 I forced Rosanna to read the first one and she got hooked too! So we were both crazies for the series from then on. We bought everything HP related and talked endlessly about the books and then when the movie came out??? We practically peed our pants.
I remember the day we watched the first movie like it was yesterday. It was in the fall and Rosanna and I went to San Marcos to watch it. I don't think we saw a midnight of it... we just went one day after school. I remember the music the most because it captured the magic of the Harry Potter universe. It was just so cool! Ive never been so fanatic over anything ever since Harry Potter it was just such a phenomenon! And it was because of HP that I told myself I would never judge or hate on something until I actually checked it out. And it was because of HP I wasnt ashamed of liking things that were different and I wasnt ashamed of being different. YUP. I love Harry Potter!
Im really excited for the movie but also sad because its finally coming to an end... but we will always have the books... so when we feel like we need a little bit of magic in our lives all we have to do it open the pages and be lost in the corridors of Hogwarts once again.

Teenage Dream
VEGAS. Vince and I went. The End.
NAH, it was fun and super relaxing. I was uploading some pics onto facebook just now and out of the 160 pics we took I could only post a hand full cuz in most of them we look drunk even though we weren't, well, I might have been but yeah. Not very photogenic over here. Any-who, if you follow me on twitter or facebook you were a first hand witness to a lot of the trip. Here are some highlights... IN DRAWING FORM!

Good memories... the ones I can remember anyway LAWL. We spent a lot of time eating and walking around the strip without any direction at all. Saw Mystere which was neat, went to a Sanrio store and I got an awesome PEN! The Luxor was super cool! I love ancient Egyptian culture so I was all over that. It was a very fun and non-drama filled couple of days. Came home early this morning and poor Nimbus was soo lonely lol. I think he was a bit traumatized cuz he was alone for so long. He's better now though. YUP. I was glad to get away for a while and have no real worries. I guess I didnt realize how happy I was until I got home and then I was like, Oh maaan I wish I was still vacationing. I got work in two hours.

VS. The World
Today a bunch of the guys and I watched Scott Pilgrim VS The World. I already knew that it was going to be full of video game awesomeness from the previews and people telling me about how cool it was and stuff-that wasn't a complete sentence-BUT it was better than I expected. Theeeere we go.
The movie was amazing from the very beginning... and I mean the VERY VERY beginning as in when they show the UNIVERSAL sign and earth logo. The movie opens with the Legend of Zelda 8 bit opening song(to which I geeked out to) and the entire movie is filled with video game references. The whole feel of it just mimics one fun RPG. There is one neat scene where Scott is day dreaming about Ramona and the fairy fountain song from Zelda plays in the background with a girl actually singing the tune. It was SO AMAZING. THEN there's this other scene where Scott plays the battle music from FFII on the bass. Yeah. That's when I peed my pants.
There were moments during the movie when I felt that it would have been way cooler to have seen it with a full audience. Although the movie is pretty funny, it felt like there were a lot of things you couldn't geek out to alone. I really wanna watch the movie with my siblings cuz I KNOW they would geek out with me. And we will laugh and laugh until forever. Im not good with movie reviews but if you're into video games, if you are a nerd/geek at heart, if you like Michael Cera then you will definitely appreciate this movie. Also, what's up with that chick playing Ramona?? Her eye balls are soo... big. I want to watch it again! Who wants to go with me?
I really wish I had read the comics before watching the movie so I could compare the two. There is a scene in the movie towards the end where a guy in the background is talking to someone about how "the comic was better than this movie" but you really had to be paying attention to hear it, I thought it was clever. I might have to borrow the comics from someone one of these days.
In ooother news, I have a new car. It's white and its lovely. Its a lot better than my blue one thats for sure. Im always afraid that it's going to break down cuz I dunno, I guess im used to bad things happening to me all the time I just freak out when things are going right... because Im just waiting. Its the wait that makes me crazy. Hopefully all will be good for a while. A long long while.
Sometimes it feels like it's me against the world.

Twilight
Nimbus has his little kitty paws underneath my closed door. How long can I ignore him before he meows me to death and forces me to let him in? I swear he has super sonic hearing cuz I change the way I breathe and he runs back to the door.
**WARNING** If you are a BOY and don't like Twilight or anything associated with girly mushy feelings of love and wonderment and sparkles then you PROBABLY shouldn't read the rest of this here entry. Just skip to the end.
Any-who, I worked closing projections today which left me alone with my thoughts. So I did a lot of thinking and a bit of reading. I am currently a few chapters away from finishing Twilight. This is the second time (I think or third time) I read the book. Back when I first read it, I was enthralled by the character of Edward and the idea of living in a place that rains constantly (cuz I love rain) and being surrounded by trees and moss and GREEN (cuz I love... green). I was in a different place then, not just physically but mentally. I was eager to escape my reality. So I instantly fell in love with Edward, or the idea of him, of having someone who would love me unconditionally and protect me with his VERY LIFE. But also, I loved that the myths of vampires and wolves crossed the imagination and became tangible in the Twilight universe. It made me feel a little hope that maybe, something magical would happen in MY ordinary and boring life, and change things. And make life bearable again...
Twilight is my least favorite time of day. It has always brought sadness when Im out during twilight. I consciously avoid being outside during that time of day because it depresses me. For some reason it feels hopeless. I have NO idea why it makes me feel this way, it just does. When I finished reading the book it happened to be during twilight, and I felt sad for TWO reasons: The book had ended and I was back to my harsh reality, and the sky was that familiar orange-purple. I immediately forced my mom to buy me the second book so I wouldn't be so sad. She just thought I was crazy.
Now that Im re-reading it it has a completely new feel to it. Im in a different place. The book doesnt have that strange and magical hold on me as it did before, though I still get butterflies in my stomach now and again just like the first time, when I put myself in Bella's place. For a moment I let my imagination run wild and as I walked around the projection booth (or sometimes ran around the projection booth) I realized that something magical DID happen, and my boring life became extraordinary, if only for one reason. If only just for me. And for the first time ever I empathized with Bella (which is HUGE cuz I hated her character) and her struggle and reluctance to accept Edwards love and devotion. Its HARD to decide you SHOULDNT be with a sparkly and utterly handsome vampire just to protect him, and yourself, she did it because she loved him with all her being and had his best interest at heart (as did he for her in New Moon) but when it came down to it, they ended up causing each other more harm, which made me sad. Because I know exactly how she felt. Its a struggle, that's for sure. But one look and a crooked smile later, all the worry, the doubt, everything suddenly becomes brighter... like the color of the setting sun.
**END**
In other news, I changed my flat tire this morning like the burly manly man that I am. I told a couple of the fellas at work and they seemed impressed with my manly prowess, not to mention that incredible bulge I had in my pants which they seemed to approve of. Good thing they didn't know it was just a massive lady boner cuz I was thinking about Edward. If you follow my tweets you probably wonder why Im such a lunatic, but really, it only happens during crescent moons. I was gonna go to San Marcos buuutt certain circumstances prevented me, yet again, to make that trip. So here I sit, debating on whether or not to go to sleep or finish reading. Sleep does sound good, but Edward sounds better. *DROOL* Cue lady boner.
In other news... JAKE SOOLY?! I have a sudden urge to watch Avatar.
