I've been reading a lot about stress and how it affects the body and what not. Yesterday I read that young adults spend every minute either watching TV, on their cell phone or on a computer. A lot of people are so tied to their electronics that being without them stresses them out but also having them stresses them out even if they dont realize it! I don't want to be tied to my phone or computer. Yeah I check my phone for texts and calls but if I lost my phone or if it broke (which it often does) I wouldnt go crazy. And I definitely wouldnt go crazy if I didnt have a computer cuz I didnt have one for about half a year. But there are those people who are constantly on their phones due to work or because they're stalking someone on facebook. Usually I check facebook because I'm bored, so I need to find things to do so I wont be bored! Anyway, I think everyone should spend one day not being plugged in to the internet or TV and just let your body relax. Go read a book or take a walk. And before you go complainin (VINCE), I DO spend a lot of time away from electronics because I've picked up reading again. I spend hours (at least I used to before I started school) reading in my room with everything turned off, the window open and the sounds of crickets and coyotes as my background music. Or you can have a fun day of relaxation with a good friend which brings me to my next paragraph...
Yesterday Vince and I planned on going to Del Mar to visit a luxury movie theater. I got out of work early so we drove to San Marcos to visit SUBMARINA! The sandwiches are so delicious there MMM. After the sandwiches we were pretty much satisfied but we decieded not to go home after that and we visited our old theater. It was fun seeing all our old work buddies! Then we drove south towards Del Mar. We got our tickets early cuz I guess the shows sell out often because there are only about 60 seats in each auditorium. We had about 2 hours to kill so we went to the beach!! It was so nice. The sky was clear and the sun was nice and warm and the breeze coming off the ocean was clean and cool. I took off my shoes and went to the waters edge to feel if it was cold. It was kind of cold and my pants got kind of wet. Vince stayed on the sand and played with his phone. When I came back one of my shoes was missing. Vince was sitting with his legs crossed smiling like a kid who knew he did something bad and wasnt ashamed of it. When I asked him where my shoe was he just looked at me... and that's when I knew. He buried my shoe in the sand!!! And he wouldnt tell me where! So I searched for it in the sand thinking "He wouldnt bury it right side up cuz thats just dumb" but I shouldve known better cuz he buried it right side up and my shoe was filled with sand. He was laughing his head off! I guess it was kind of funny.
After throwing sand on each other we decided to head back to the theater. You wouldnt know it was a movie theater walking into the lobby of the place. There's a bar in the lobby serving everything from wine to Grey Goose shots and the "concession stand" looks like a starbucks counter with a coffee machine next to the register and delicious looking pastries in the glass display. The menu, which they have laying around in their various lounge areas, looks like it belongs in a restaurant. Every auditorium has reserved seating so you have to pick your seats when you buy your tickets. I guess this relieves the stress of finding good seats or any seats in a movie. Vince and I kind of lounged a bit, checking out the restrooms and the upstairs sitting area that had awesome high back chairs made completely out of clear plastic. We finally went into the auditorium. The seats are all plush leather recliners with little side tables to put your food on and a lamp between every other seat. There's a call button on each seat and a waiter will come and take your order and bring your food to you so you can enjoy the movie without having to go out during the feature to get stuff to eat. They'll even bring you napkins! The seats, which were my most favorite part of this experience, recline almost all the way back. I was watching that movie SO HARD on my comfy chair. I will never enjoy our lame theater seats ever again! We watched Crazy Stupid Love. I didnt want to leave after the movie was over cuz those seats were so nice. I had a nice experience but I guess this place has only been open a few months and theyre still working out the food service aspect of it. The price for each ticket was $18 and only two auditoriums allow alcohol inside. I would recommend it if you wanna try something different or classier or if you wanna get a drink and feel cool.
After the movie we headed over to Vista to visit the local Albertacos and we stuffed our faces with Mexican food SO HARD. It sucks that there arent any good Mexican food places in Orange county. Thats one of the things I miss from San Diego the most. After we got home I did some school reading and then I went to sleep at 1 AM which is early for me. Vince called me a square and I kind of felt like one. But when my head hit that pillow I drifted off with a smile on my face cuz I had a fun day and sleep is awesome and I dreamed happy dreams until the landscapers outside my window started their lawnmower.
