Pie Hole Holding

WOW last week was crazy. It was super busy at work with Christmas and what not. I mean it was HELLA BUSY. Every one worked really hard and worked late and came in early and it was just stressful but fun at the same time! It's been a while since I posted anything so I'll try to put what I remember @_@

Christmas was fun and different this year. Christmas for me, being Mexican and what not, is full of tradition and family and its just different. We used to go to Mexico to celebrate the holidays when I was younger but I havent been back there in almost 9 years. So to me, not being there makes it feel like Im not celebrating Christmas at all. It wasnt about presents. It was about spending time with family and that was gift enough. I honestly dont remember getting presents as a little kid, thats how little value we put on gifts and being materialistic (and we were also poor). We would go to church a lot. Christmas was about baby Jesus and in Mexico they dont ask you what Santa brought you they ask what "El Nino Dios" brought you. It was fun, and I miss it every single year Im not there. I miss the music, the food, the atmosphere, I miss seeing my family.

I guess that I haven't really had a nice Christmas since I started working, because Ive always had the misfortune of working at places that never close. This year though, I had Christmas eve off which was a first, and I closed on Christmas day, so I had about a day and a half of time off. It felt weird but I liked it. This year I spent Christmas with Vince and his family. Christmas eve was spent doing last minute shopping and hanging around Vince's moms house while his brother slaved over tons of delicious foods in the kitchen. Vince helped too by making the stuffing, and I helped by standing to the side and eating every thing. We had dinner that night while wearing silly hats. I had some wine and I still dont like it. After dinner we played games. It was "kids" vs the adults, and the adults always won. Damn them and their infinite wisdom!! At midnight we opened gifts and then sat around the fire place until we all got warm and sleepy and waddled off to bed with bellies full of food and candy. The following morning Vince cooked us breakfast consisting of french toast, eggs, bacon and home made sweet potato hash browns. I honestly didn't think he was going to wake up and make it but he totally did and it was amazing. Then, after all the fun, I had to go to work. And I had to go in early. YAY!

Then there was the week from hell.

Then it was New Years eve which I volunteered to work (a closing shift, then open the next day. That's called clopening for those of you not in the know). The night was busy but at the very end it was dead. Before the stroke of midnight the three managers and all employees met up in box office and we had a mini party! We had lots of snacks and sparkling apple cider. I donned my amaaaazing new shirt that Vince gave me for x-mas (Pixels are for Squares shirt) and we partied ALL NIGHT LONG or for 20 min and then we went back to work cuz we still had to finish closing everything. HEHEHEHEHEHE. Then I went home and the rest of the night was a bluuuurrrr then 4 hours later I was back at work! Everyone, including myself, were pretty much worn out from working so much and it showed on everyone's tired faces. But school will be in session soon, people will go back to work, and everything will be calm and boring again. Then we hibernate until summer time!

NOW we're in 2011! Wow... an entire decade gone by in a blink of an eye. Last year was amazing for so many reasons. There were good things and a lot bad things but I'm glad that all the choices I made have led me to this moment, where I am able to sit here listening to the Pushing Daisies soundtrack while typing on my Hello Kitty keyboard as Nimbus purrs on my bed behind me and Vince sleeps in the other room, probably having unicorn dreams. I can honestly say I never thought that I would leave San Marcos or my family and friends, to leave that comfort zone and start a new life in a different city, work at a new place (even though its still a movie theater), meet so many awesome people, learn so many new things. Im glad I did all of it. Regardless of all the bad times and the struggles I am really happy to be here. I hope that in this new year I have the strength and courage to make more big decisions and grow. Life is one giant adventure and if you don't take chances and go explore it you will be missing out on the journey of a life time.

I was looking at my pictures from 2010 and there are sooo many. Even after I picked out my favorites there were still a ton. SO I created an album and all that nonsense so go check it out if you're interested in seeing what went down last year... or if you're just a creepy stalker D: PHOTO MEMORIES 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY ONE
